The M3 hits 60 mph from a standing start in 4.1 seconds. The M3 Competition is obviously quicker, needing 3.8 clicks to hit the same benchmark. Top speed is rated at the very German 155 mph, but adding the option M Driver's Package raises the benchmark to 180 mph.

The 2021 BMW M3 retails from $69,900 in the United States. The M3 Competition model with the more powerful engine comes in at $72,800. The stickers do not include the $995 destination tax. The AWD option will probably set you back at least $2,000.

This car is an absolute monster on the street but feels like the safest car I've ever driven. They really thought of everything - I don't think there's a better or more fun car out there. I absolutely love this sport sedan. BMW has set the bar high again with the Competition Package M3.
Despite all of the power, all of the performance and all of the driving dynamics, the M3 is still a pretty luxurious car. Its seats are superbly comfortable, it has excellent modern technology, has a (relatively) compliant ride and can easily be driven everyday.
As with most goods in a free market economy, the M3 is priced at a level that the seller (BMW) believes the market will bear, i.e. maximize profit by selling as many as they can without leaving unsold inventory. BMW is easily selling all the M3's they can make, so by that measure it's not too expensive.
